The Minbari

The Minabari are the storngest of any of the yonger races for they are the oldest of the younger races. For this their technology is centuries ahead of any of the newer races that they live with, but is way behind the technology that the Frist Ones has. They have also been the frist race of any of the yonger races that had achieved spaceflight almost over 1,100 years ago, and they also used the old series of jump gates that were around the space that they were in.

The Minbari are a humanoid race who is the closet race that is smilliar to the Humans. The only real different behind the Humans and the Minbari is the headbone that is a protective sheath around the head of a singal Minbari that provides extra protection where the internal skull is fragil. This structure is not present when a Minbair is born, but growns in over time. Each headbone is different from the other that can differ in size, configuaration, and the texture of it. To enforce this, the Minbari have many elaborate rituals for the shapping, honing, and the cutting of the crest around their head. The female version of the headbone is a smooth curve on both sides ending in a singular point at the back of it, also in the back of their head there is a tirangle shape. The male version of the headbone tends to rise at several peacks on both sides of the creast. Also the crest also shaped into the one caste that the a singal Minbari belong to. A member of the Worker Caste dose not have a very stylized desing of it. The older a Minbari get, the more the headbone creeps across to the top of their heads.

The other differents that the Minbari have, is a slighty more raised and obvious spinal struture, differences in the type of blood that they have, and they also have a very remarkable constitution plus strength. Unlike a human that can take alcohol, this race can't for it will make a them paranoid and psychoitcaly violent.

The Minbari are a long lived race, the average lifespan is about 220 to 225 Earth years or in Minbari terms, 133 to 150 Minbari cycles. It the latter part of the life of a Minbari is generally spent in a somewhat sommolent state.

The males of the race are the only ones that can grow facial hair, which is traditionally shaved off. There are some Minbari who ar somewhat rebellious and will grow beards, but are well cultivates and trimmeded. Also female Minbari don't menstruate.

The Minbari do have telepaths, that is regareded to the Minbari as a rare gift. Most of them live a life that is full with public services to the other Minbari. In return for this gift that they have their are Minbari that will insure that the telepaths are adequately clothed and fed.

The Minbari live a life so that they can attain pefection in all the forms that they can, that will inculde the physically, the mentally, the spiritually, and the emotionlly. This race emphasize the arts in the society and are very tolerant of cultural and religious diffences among the other cultures that are out there right now. This race tries to strive to be an advanced civilization, they do seem have a superiority complex over races that deem "inferior", this is stress more with the warrior caste. This race view that techology as only a transitory thing and that they belive that no race can be truly intelligent without lauaghter. To stress this view of lauaghter, a Minbari will spend an entire year in temple to apparticate this and Minbari humor is soley based on one lack to attain spiritually perfection. Also Minbari humor isn't based like Human humor that is based embrassment and personal rejection, but it is based on the lack of attention pefection.

Also this race has a divison behind the Religious and Warrior Caste. While the ones that are from the Religious Caste are mostly reflective and clam and the one that are from the Warrior Caste are impulisive and ruthless. While this divison was deepend even snice the Earth-Minbari war and eventlay can to ahead in their civil war.

This race is thaught at birth that there is no greater goal or nobler duty than to serve others. They are raised to be a totally self-sacrificting race and because of that it never occurs to them to do anything other than to serve. One of the many lessons that they are thaught in this belivthe that they have is that the suffering, no matter if they are Minbari or people that are from other races, are to be ministered to and comtorted to.

The culture of the Minbari is divded into a system of castes that are three, religious, warrior, and worker. The caste system of the Minbari, is the most liberaly system that has even been seem for it isn't determined by one birth or genetics, but is chosen by one's calling of their heart. When a Minbari has chosen a caste they are assigned a teacher from the caste that they have chosen. The teacher will guide the applicant and determine if the calling is a ture after a few cycles. If the applicant dose seen to fit it they are accepted into that one caste that they have chosen, if not other Minbari will help them to find out what one they belong to. This is done so that it will prevent them from chossing the wrong caste due to the others' expectations. After the membership is granted, obedinence to that one caste's superiors is expected.

The Religious caste of the Minbari, is one that seem to be the most friendist out of all of the castes of the Minbari. This caste dose not eat meat, but only furits and other non-meat foods.

The House of Mir-is one of the several clans founded by Valen's offspring after his disappearance.

The Thrid Fane of Chudomo-is a house that have served the Minbari with honor for 500 years.

The Worker Caste is the biggest caste out of the castes in the Minbari. This caste seem to blend into the background of the Minbari culure, because they are thought not to be notice. This caste has all of the traders and the pilots. This caste do eat meat.

The Warrior Caste is the least friendliest of all the castes in the Minbari, this is due to the fact that they don't like strangers on their homeworld. This caste dose also eat meat. This caste rarely, if ever, carry a weapon of alien make because it would be an offesene to their honor. Also this caste should great honor by flying a ship with all of their ship's gun ports open. This is a great honor to have done to you or your people for it is a thing to show that they apporve them open handed for you can see their weapons.

Star Riders-is the oldest Warrior Clans is also a name that refers to mounted soldiers who tranined to with the use of the stars as their tools of navigation.

Moon Shields-is a clan that traditionally rode to battle mounted.

Wind Swords-is a clan that is the most militant clan of all of the Warrior Clans, that has housed the last of the Dillars. This clan also traditionally rode mounted into battle.

Night Walkers-is a clan that was a group of foot soldiers who were expert at night travelling.

Fire Wings-is a clan that was the first clan who used flying machines into battle.

Their socitey is very different that any of the other race due to the fact that they don't accessorize, they rather express themselves in what they dress with the fabric of different texture and color. They also have a thing with triangles and the number of three. This race sleeps at 45 degree angle for to sleep horizontal would be tempting death. Respect in this race is shown by to a high ranking Minbari is to look down. This race, as a rule, dose not lie this is due that to do that is to maintain honor to kept this they must not lie or not to say a thing, but a distortion of the turth is accepted for it would be to "save face" for another person in their caste or clan.

A True Seachers is a highly honored by the Minbari, because they feel that are holy people who have dedicated themselves to a much highter purpose to serve their people. When one dose die, it is very custormary to crush a crystal over the seeker's grave. The dust that is from the crush crystal will glow over that place for every night for a whole century.

The Minbari have many richly in many things like how to say good bye and hello, this also help the displeasure in this race. One of them is that the when the Minbari get close they have one where the male sleeps and the female watchs their face to see the ture face of the male. If the female likes what she sees she will stay with them for the rest of the two days, and if she dosn't she will leave him not to see him again. But if the male wants to stay she will do that for him, or she might file a complain to the elders of their clan or even cut off his acress to her family.

Other one is called the Rebirth one where the a person that is inovled with it must give up something that is very valuable to them and tell something that they have never told before. After that the leader of the group passes around red furit for them to eat. While they are doing that music is played.

The religion of the Minbari is also very differnt for they don't belive in anytype of deities. The core of their religion is center around the soul. A soul to them is defined by a non-localized event, meaning that a person's soul dose not originate from within, but from the outside by a hidden source that is the universes itself. Also to them, the universe is a conscious thing that is engaged in a search for meaning so that it will break inself apart into differnt things and invest them into different parts all over the place. So they belive that that every living being is a projection of of the one singal universal soul and that every living thing has an immortal soul. That when a Minbari dies that their soul will merge with the seas of souls of the other Minbari that have gone before them, this will form what they call a pool in which the newer Minbari are born into. To remove one of these souls from the pool would dimishe the whol e race of the Minbari.

For the last thousand years, the souls of the Minbari have been migration, the reason for this belive is that the succeeding generation of the Minbari dose not feel like that they are equal to the one that went before them. The reason for this was discover with the used of the triluminary, that humans has Minbari souls, it is uknowned if this is full or in part.

The government of the Minbari, is governed by a singal leader, that is called the Chosen One and the Grey Counical. This is a group of nine that has representatives that are from all three Minbari castes. This is a thing that is has a strick law to it and must not be broken or it will have great problems down the road. For when Delenn was remove from the Counical and was replace with one that has came from the Warrior Caste the power that all of the castes has was unbalance and because of that was broken only a year ago by Delenn. In doing this a vaccum of power was made, and the ones who took that change to get power was the Warrior Caste. In doing this they fought with the Religous Caste in a civil war. At the end of this war, the Counical was reformed by Delenn with the Worker Caste in head of the it.

The military of the Minbari, is the stronger one, but to kept the blance in their race, all of the castes control a thrid of all of the millitary force. This is due so that one caste will take control of the race. Also the allows the caste to have a say in how the fleet is used through their space.

Also this fleet is one of the most fear in all of th e know races. With their ships that are fast, highly maneuverable, and able to evade senors, their ships were known by Earth pilots " Ghost in the Night". Their techonogy is gravtice, for the Minbari execl in crystal based technology with crystalline power sources that is clean, gravity manipulating rings, and changed crystal knife-gauntlets. They are also masters at the used of holographic techonolgy, that the manly used in their warships to help view what in going on during a battle, but they also used is it in programs, for a more peacefull used of this techonogly.
